RICH ENERGY AMBASSADORS BRING PODIUMS AND POINTS ACROSS THE WEEKEND

ONCE AGAIN, OUR RICH ENERGY AMBASSADORS WERE IN ACTION ACROSS EUROPE LAST WEEKEND BRINGING HOME A FABULOUS POINTS AND PODIUM HAUL

Honda WorldSBK star, Alvaro Bautista, looked set to continue his podium run in Portimao last weekend as the Spaniard qualified sixth fastest around the Portuguese rollercoaster circuit. Saturday's opening race was an edge-of-the-seat affair as Bautista battled long and hard with Frenchman, Loris Baz. Determined to keep his podium run going after success in Barcelona and Jerez, the former MotoGP man was looking good for that run to continue before tucking the front of his Honda through the ultra-fast final turn, thankfully escaping injury.

Sunday's Superpole race to decide the grid for Race 2 later in the day was held in wet conditions in the Algarve but Bautista battled through to sixth place at the flag after being pipped to the line by Locatelli. The weather cleared up for the main race as Bautista lined up on the second row of the grid once again. A sluggish start meant the former 125cc World Champion had to battle his way back through the pack to challenge for the podium places. Another battel with Baz ensued until on lap 18 Bautista passed his fellow ex-MotoGP rider only to have Baz run across the kerb and make contact, disappointingly knocking the Honda rider out of the race.

Over in Germany, Tim Reeves and Kevin Rousseau's European Tour continues apace as the duo contested four races across the weekend at Oschersleben. The Anglo-French duo won both races in the German IDM Championship which set them up well for the two World Sidecar rounds held at the same venue. A double podium in both races left the pair happy with their performance, bringing home a second and a third place to add to the two wins already in the bag. Hopefully, Tim and Kevin have enough room in the van for all the silverware they have collected this season but will be on the hunt for more as the pair head to Brands Hatch in 10 days time for the final round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship.

Donington Park held the penultimate round of the BSB Championship last weekend and the True Heroes Racing team were out in force with three riders across two series. In the Pirelli National Superstock Championship, Dave Sellers and Dave Mackay were in action for the team as they continued to prove themselves in the class. Saturday's opening race was wet after inclement weather moved across the circuit for the afternoon which brought both joy and disappointment to the team as Dave Mackay fell without injury from his Suzuki GSX-R1000 and could only watch from the side lines as Sellers scored his first-ever points in a Superstock race for the team! Sunday was dry for race two with Sellers and Mackay coming home in 29th and 33rd.

THR affiliate rider Harrison Mackay was also in action across the weekend as the youngster contested the Honda British Talent Cup. Only in his first season in the prestigious championship, the Lincoln teenager brough home a point in the rain-affected Saturday race to the delight of the team and family as he followed in the wheel tracks of step-dad, Sellers. In Sunday's race two it was 18th place for Mackay to round out a good weekend with more learning completed.

Congratulations to all our RICH Energy ambassadors on a successful weekend
