DONINGTON PARK PODCAST SPECIAL

A TRIPLE-HEADER FROM THE FORMER HOME OF MOTOGP AS DAVE NEAL CHATS WITH CHARLIE NESBITT, BRAD PERIE, AND JAMIE LYONS

It was a busy weekend of podcasting under the flight path of East Midlands airport as our intrepid host, Dave Neal, pulls in three excellent chats with some rising stars of the British Championships. It's really important to give these guys some airtime as they are the future of our sport. Two of the three riders popped their podcast cherry this weekend while the third is a podcaster's dream who talks and talks...

Charlie Nesbitt has been plying his trade in British Supersport for the last three seasons after heading to Spain with the Motostar Championship trophy under his arm at the end of 2016. A career that began with minimotos, progressing to Motostar and then to CEV Repsol against some of the fastest riders in the world. A challenging time in Spain led to a return to the British Championship aboard an R6 Yamaha to learn his way in the middleweight class which in turn set him on the path to GP Championship contention with RS Racing.

Brad Perie has already made an appearance on Chrissy and Dom's Chasin' the Racin' but this time he joins Dave in the race truck office to catch up on the season so far. The Cumbrian is having a great season so far and in really good form for the Championship battle with the reigning champions. Chatting about how he got into racing, his career at B&Q as well as giving Dave stick about hotels and wanting a superbike ride!

Jamie Lyons is a rising star in the sport of motorcycle racing. Hailing from Northern Ireland, the 16-year-old is contesting the Honda British Talent Cup. As one of the tallest and heaviest riders, the youngster has his work cut out against the flyweight 12 and 13-year-olds in the championship and talks us through just how he has to compensate for power-to-weight and the disadvantages it brings. Recently, Lyons has been out on his 600 back at home, bringing home some success at Bishopscourt in races against the like of Michael Dunlop, Alistair Seeley and Christian Elkin.

We really enjoyed brining these chats to you so if you have any suggestions for riders you'd like to hear on the show, feel free to drop us a line on twitter @OffTrack_ and over on Instagram we're @Off_Track__Pod so give us a follow and let us know!
